At the Kyushu Grand Sumo Tournament that was held in Fukuoka, Japan on November 13-27, Mongolian Sumo wrestler Yokozuna Hakuho made his 21 win, with a lead of 14 victories. Currently he is the sixth best sumo wrestler in the history of sumo wrestling championships, after Taiho-32 wins, Chiyonofuji-31 wins, Asashoryu-25 wins, Kitunoumi- 24 wins, and Takanohana-22 wins. If he had not been defeated by Baruto on the last day of the Kyushu match, he would have become the first in the number of wins without a single defeat. Hakuho held a press conference November 28, revealing his plans for 2012.

The year 2011 was a challenging year for him and sumo wrestling. On his birthday March 11, an earthquake occurred. In the months that followed, many sumo wrestlers, including many of his close friends, were required to step down their careers, due to sumo conspiracy issues of match fixing. His main goal of 2012 would be to beat the success of Takanohana of 22 wins, said Yokozuna Hakuho. Also, another Mongolian sumo wrestler Sensho E.Bayarbat won the Kyushu Basho in the Makushita Division, making himself eligible to be promoted to Juryo Division in the January 2012 tournament.
